Radio Helderberg 93.6FM is a community radio station based in Somerset West, some 48km from Cape Town in the Western Cape. 93.6 FM’s broadcast area includes Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Sir Lowry’s Pass, Nomzamo, Lwandle, Eerste River and Macassar. The station’s footprint extends to parts of the Cape Peninsula, southern and northern suburbs, West Coast, Stellenbosch, Elgin-Grabouw, Hermanus and Gansbaai.

Broadcasting in English, Afrikaans, and isiXhosa, 93.6FM is uniquely Helderberg, but with broad appeal, guaranteeing good company around the clock. The station acquired its broadcast license on July 1, 1995. It is owned by subscribers and run by a station manager acting on behalf of a board of trustees. A core team of staff is employed full-time while most of the wider network of some 50 presenters provide services on a voluntary basis. We aim to inform, educate, entertain and provide companionship. To reinforce basic values, recognizing every individual’s purpose and gifts as being the ingredients that form the unique character and expression of our community.
